Land Use/Zoning, Building and Manufactured Home Permits
Important! - Prior to doing any construction, earth moving, filling or grading in Trempealeau County please contact the Department of Land Management for information on any applicable local regulations. If you are building a New Home please contact the Department of Land Management and request that a New Home Building Packet be sent to you.
The following permits are required in Trempealeau County if you are doing any construction, building a new house, adding on to an existing house or structure or locating/replacing a manufactured home in the County:
Land Use/Zoning Permits: are required if you are building a home, an addition to a home, a shed, deck or any accessory structure.
Building Permits: are required if you are building a home, an alteration or addition to a home, cabin or a detached garage. Please review UNIFORM DWELLING CODE - CHAPTER 23 for detailed explanation of permit requirements. The permits must be filled out completely and signed by the applicant and the Town Chairman or Clerk.
Manufactured Home Permits: are required if you are locating a manufactured home or replacing a manufactured home on a property. The permits must be filled out completely and signed by the applicant and the Town Chairman or Clerk.
Be sure to contact your local Town, Village, or City official to see if your Municipality has any requirements.
Return all applications to the Trempealeau County Department of Land Management.
