Volunteer Drivers ProgramThis program provides transportation to medical appointments for anyone age 60 or over who lives in their own home and is unable to get to their appointments on their own. Persons with disabilities may use this program when a Dr. verifies the disability.

Volunteers, using their own vehicles, pick up participants at their home, take them to their appointments and return them to their home. All persons using this service must be able to get in and out of vehicles without being lifted. The drivers are reimbursed for their mileage, however, they donate their time.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Live in your own home or apartment
  • Are unable to drive to appointments alone
  • Have no other means of transportation available from family or friends

There are no income or asset limits for persons using this program.

Participants will be sent a statement at the end of each month outlining the co-payment due for each trip made. The co-payment is .67 cents per mile round trip from driver's home.

Drivers will pick you up at your home, take you to your medical appointment, and drive you home.

People receiving medical assistance must arrange their non-emergency medical appointment rides with VEYO, 1-866-907-1493.

This program is funded by a combination of Federal, State, and local funds as well as co-payments. For reservations, call (715) 538-2001 or toll free at 1-800-273-2001.
