Sheriff SalesSheriff Sales are normally conducted on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. at the front entrance of the Trempealeau County Courthouse, 36245 Main Street, Whitehall, WI. 

Successful bidders are required to have 10% of their bid in cash, money order or certified check at the time of sale made payable to the Clerk of Court". The balance is due at the time of confirmation. The successful bidder is also responsible for all legal liens, encumbrances and unpaid real estate taxes.

All properties are sold "as is" and are not available for viewing. 

The bank, lending institution or their attorney will put in the first bid. Anyone else can then bid on the property. The property goes to the highest bidder.

The Sheriff's Department does not have any specific information regarding the condition of the property being sold. Persons interested in obtaining information about a property are encouraged to contact the attorney or lender who is foreclosing on the property.
For Third-Party Bidders - Effective 10/1/2018: 2017 Wisconsin Act 339 requires that all eligible third-party bidders must complete a CV-550 form to be able to bid at a mortgage foreclosure sale.
