Area residents are invited to attend a special 50th Anniversary Celebration for Pietrek Park from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday September 24th. Pietrek Park is located at N31500 State Road 93, Arcadia (between Arcadia and Independence). There’ll be fun, food, refreshments, conservation education exhibits, smores and more as we celebrate a half century of beautiful Pietrek Park. The park is named in honor of Joseph (Joe) Pietrek Jr. who died in a car crash in December 1970. Pietrek was the UW Extension 4-H Agent in Clark County at the time of his death. In 1970, Joe’s parents offered 100 acres to Trempealeau County as a permanent 4-H and youth educational group camping facility.
Over the past five decades, thousands of children, families and individuals have had a chance to enjoy this beautiful land along the Trempealeau River, make life-long memories and, in doing so, honor the namesake of this park, Joe Pietrek Jr. This event will take a look back at the history of Pietrek Park as well as preview the future.
This is a free, family friendly event, open to all ages. The fun starts at 3:00 p.m. with a formal program scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Nashville recording artist Bruce Larson and his Rocky Mountain Band will perform a free show at 5:30 p.m.
